Ease of use

The Micromalter is fully computer controlled by a PC, which also enables you to control malting from a remote site. Our latest software is Microsoft Windows compatible, has greater flexibility and is easy to use. Existing DOS-based units can be readily upgraded to the new software.

Simulation

Sample sizes from a mere 20g to 1000g can be micromalted without any change to the unit’s sample carriage system.

A major feature of our unit is that all humidified air must pass through the entire grain bed. This simulates commercial malting and produces improved uniformity between samples during germination and in particular, kilning.

Dimensions

Designed to fit through a standard doorway and requiring only mains water and power, the Micromalter can be easily installed in any laboratory. Made from the highest grade components, it can be easily maintained. Recent changes to the unit include increasing the capacity to 10kg and an associated refinement of the air recirculation system.

The Joe White Malting Systems Micromalter is not only used internally by Joe White Maltings itself, but by many of the world’s major malting companies. A number of international brewers, barley breeders and scientific researchers also use our micromalt units to achieve precise results.

Joe White Malting Systems celebrated the manufacture of its 50th unit in 2002. Our units are currently operating in over 20 countries around the world.

The Micromalting System continues to be manufactured in Perth, Western Australia by Joe White Maltings Pty. Limited. Full commissioning and training are supplied by Joe White Malting Systems or its European and North American agents, Westrup. Our competent staff can provide further technical support and spare parts as required.
